[When the feed comes on, it's displaying this glorious beast.    Sho is tangled up in the inn room's sheets and blankets so badly that its hard to tell where they end and he begins. Feverish and puffy-eyed, his breathing is a ragged hunhgh noise at best, punctuated by coughs that sounded like someone's rattling marbles in a bucket of jelly.

On his butt sits a hat. At his back is the Purrloin who put that hat there, insistently pawing at him as if hoping that her benevolent gesture of returning it to her trainer might make all of this go away.    All in all, the whole scene looks like a hot mess.]

So... [says the alto female voice behind the camera, who sounds oddly unconcerned]   ...this has been going on since he fell into the water two nights ago while we were traveling here.   I don't think he's dying yet, though I wonder if anyone knows what it might be.

[A pause as she's interrupted by another explosion of coughing]   I'd have taken him to a doctor, but I don't think you appreciate how dedicated he is to that bed at the moment... [or how difficult it was dragging him in here in the first place, for that matter...

As the purrloin continues to nudge and poke him with her paw, a hand suddenly explodes out of the cocoon of blankets and seizes the feline by the scruff of her neck.   He sits up, looking blearily-disoriented but clearly thinking he's awake enough to growl into his pokemon's face:]

In arctic and tropical climes,
the integers, addition, and times,
taken (mod p) will yield
a full finite field,
as p ranges over the primes!

[She is not sure whether this was a reprimand or not, and so, responds by grabbing for his bandana.   There's a sigh that sounds slightly exasperated behind the camera as the video cuts out]

I'm fairly certain that anyone who has been sick before can appreciate the dedication one has to stay in bed. Unless you happen to be type who against all odds will just toss on a flu mask and go about your day as if nothing is wrong...

He seemed just as dedicated to stay in the bushes earlier. And on the doorstep of the inn following that.

While I find him much more agreeable this way, he's not easily-dragged. ....and he is getting worse.

[As though to punctuate her statement, the young man on the bed began hacking again, wheezing and shuddering.]

*... give Hayate a brief moment to freeze up in surprise when he actually sees Belphegor. That's not the face or uniform he thought he'd be seeing here again anytime soon.*

W... Well... Ah...

There's... certainly a lot to be said in regards to a person who stubbornly sticks to their ground when sick! Be that ground ideal or not... Or not ground at all...

[A brow arches slightly at the surprise flickering across his face, though she doesn't comment]

Then would you say its a normal human reaction to lay down and wait to die whenever they get sick? I wonder how there's any of you left at all...

Not...supposed...to...be...human...hectopas(cough)al!

[Because that was obviously the important thing.]

Lay down and wait for it to pass, more like. Unless they sweat it out, or try some crazy homebrew remedy.

... um... are you sure he's just sick? He sounds kind of delusional as well... Like he's a having a dream about math homework.

[Red eyes shift briefly in the direction of the hacking and ranting, waiting for it to die down before continuing]

He's been that way since he started following me, awake or sleeping. And long before he fell in the river.

[She's endured almost four days of math puns, equations, and algebraic terms, so she seems relatively unphased.

Instead, she picks up the small spray bottle containing a healing potion and looks it over idly]

Do you think he might do better if I made him drink it~?

[Hard to tell whether or not she's being serious]

[Grumbles quietly, then starts coughing again.]

*ah... he had forgotten how the sisters can be sadistic...*

Only if you'd take him choking over coughing...

I'd prefer if he'd stop that altogether, really.

[It's hard to relax when you're constantly in the presence of someone hacking up a lung]

There's... not really that much one can do when it comes to stopping that. You just have to wait it out for them to get over the sickness... If it's really bothering you that much though, since it... doesn't exactly look like you're taking care of him... You could step outside for a bit...

If I weren't taking care of him, he'd still be outside somewhere, probably, breaking off his fingers in the cold.

Though, as the chatter of voices on the Gear seem to be upsetting him enough to manhandle his pokemon, maybe stepping outside isn't a bad idea.

[she'd already heard that Beatrice and Mammon had been and gone to this place, but Lucifer as well?]

I see~ In their own way, both are good to be close to. [she agrees, making a valiant effort not to show her true feelings on the matter. Those feelings being "D-Did they leave me behind?! UWAAAHH!"]

Mmm... Lucifer was kind of like a sister to me, honestly... *Which is why seeing Belphe who looks so much like her is weird.* It was... really strange when she first left here.

[She furrows her brow a bit at his clear sadness on the matter.]

I see~ You must have meant a lot to her too if you were so close.

[Especially knowing Mammon had been a factor. It couldn't have been easy business convincing her to share him.]

How long had they been here...?

Mm... I'd like to think we meant a lot to each other.

*This is kind of weird for him, since he never actually... talked about Luci leaving. Just kind of grinned and bared it.*

--eh? Oh, um... Lucifer had been here... just around two years, I think? I'd known her almost the whole time... And, ah... Mammon-san left a long time ago, but she was here for about half that time.
