Giant Headcanon Character Survey of Doom
Dec. 10th, 2012 06:43 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
WARNING - this survey contains massive amounts of headcanon and development from other games where I find it applicable. Basically, if you nitpick through this and wonder where certain details came from because you don't remember them from the canon, they were not in the canon and were a blank I filled in myself.
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Belphegor stands about 5'4 with what would be best described as a "shapely" build. While some of her appears toned and lithe, other parts of her are rounded and soft, as if her maker were trying to create a compromise between the ideals of a "perfect woman" and a practical weapon.
2. How old is she? In appearance, Belphe could easily pass for anywhere from 16 to 19. In reality, she's close in age with her summoner, Beatrice the Golden and is nearly a thousand years old.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? Belphe carries herself straight-backed and with an air of confidence, as would be expected of well-made, quality furniture.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Belphe is in good physical condition, and has no illnesses or frailties. If any develop, they are quickly "corrected" by Beatrice. In the instances where she has acquired a human form, she tends to be fairly hardy in the face of injury or sickness.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Belphe moves with the grace of someone who's...well...weightless. By her own admission, she is faster than any bullet and is skilled in hand-to-hand combat against others. That is...when she feels like it or finds it in her best interests to be. If left to her own devices with no immediate responsibilities to fulfill, Belphe is teased by the others as being "a real sloth" due to her lack of wanting to act or wanting to move around much.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? As she has been built to be aesthetically pleasing in the ideals of what someone might consider an attractive woman, the result is a creature who walks a thin line along the Uncanny Valley. While at a glance, she may appear attractive, Belphe is a bit offputting when you get a good look at her. Think about how you'd feel interacting with a human-sized Barbie doll and that's the same sort of vibe you'd get dealing with Belphegor or one of her sisters.
Belphe does not place high priority on her looks and sees herself neither as attractive nor monstrous. She is precisely as her creator wants her to be, and that's good enough.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Belphe's complexion is assumed to be Caucasian (as she and her sisters are revealed to be "cheap American knockoffs" later in the series). Her color is healthy, and she does not have any blemishes or scars.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Belphe's hair is thick and a mousey-brown in color. Up front she keeps it neatly-trimmed in bangs that reach down to jaw-length, and in the back, it would reach the base of her back if not constantly tied up in a simple horsetail.
9. What color are her eyes? Belphe's eyes, like her sisters', are a deep red in color and tend to glow brightly when in the dark.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Her "true form" is an ornate steel stake engraved with the name "Acedia" - Latin for her patron sin - and tasseled with a hank of hair the same color and texture of her hair when in a human form.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Head and lower back. As someone who is firmly invested in taking care of everything for everyone around her if allowed, Belphe often pushes her limits in what she can handle comfortably. Bending, lifting, and carrying takes its toll on her at the end of the day, and mental stress sets in when she decides that she is certainly selling herself short if she does not complete her tasks.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Belphe is, 90% of the time, in her Sisters of Purgatory uniform which is a strange mix of being official-looking and racy. It has a suit-jacket, collared blouse, and boots, but a very short skirt, garters, and a black leotard beneath that leaves little to the imagination about the shape of her anatomy.
In fragments where she has been made to get along without her master, her style of dress tends to shift toward practical/comfortable. She thinks too highly of her position, active or not, to be seen wearing frumpy clothes or looking like a slob, so she generally tends toward plainly-stylish outfits that suit her environment (ie - if she'll be doing some traveling, she'll invest in long pants, a turtleneck, and a jacket. If she's working in an office environment, she'll tend toward a pantsuit in a formal color.
For bed, she usually wears flannel pajamas in the colder months, or a slip during the summer...both of these, usually, in pale blue or white.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Her uniform, as well as her sisters' uniforms were all custom-tailored to fit each one of them, so it goes without saying that they each look natural in them. However, as Sloth, Belphegor looks comfortable in whatever she's wearing at the time, whether she truly is or not.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Most usually, Belphe stays in-uniform regardless of whether she's on her downtime or not. There's no telling, after all, when her master might call for her. In universes such as Route where there is no magic and Beatrice is not present, and she's made to worry about the wear-and-tear on her clothes, she tends to keep her uniform carefully stored somewhere to keep it pristine and put the strain on clothes she buys while travelling Johto instead. As mentioned above, her outfits while not working tend to suit whatever environment she'll be spending time in.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Panties and a simple bra. Light blue, soft, and a little lacy.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Belphe's tone of voice is a rich alto that could almost be mistaken for being boyish.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She speaks with a calm certainty, keeping her speech slow enough to be heard clearly and seem soothing, but not so slow that it appears awkward or dragging. She seldom falters in what she's saying as it's difficult to ruffle her feathers in the first place.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? When excited, agitated, or upset, Belphe and her sisters tend to express their emotion with an exclamation of "Kyaaaa!" in leiu of an actual word. This carries over into their laughter ("Kyahaha!") as well. Belphe is much less liberal with this than her sisters as she is seldom in states of high fervor.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? It is presumed that Belphe speaks Japanese primarily during the Umineko storyline, though it is not farfetched to think she and her sisters would be familiar with many languages, new and old, as they are meant to be creatures of hell who control Purgatory Mountain. For the sake of narrowing it down, I would say Japanese was her first language as it is the language of her summoner, English is a second, and there's a scattering of Italian thrown in.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? She likely switches languages as necessary to hold conversations with those who can perceive her presence. Otherwise, she's fairly consistent.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? Belphe is a decent speaker without much prompting. Even if her plans to creep up on a potential victim are thwarted, she's usually prepared with a calm, frank explanation about why they ought to surrender without struggling. She believes that she speaks best when she speaks least.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Her words are well-used, but seem a bit awkwardly-placed at times...a trait that all of the magical creatures and witches in Umineko seem to share. Example: instead of saying "Like this/that" she's more apt to say "Like so".
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Belphe, while intelligent, is not very wise. This is due to her being sheltered away from the world to exist wherever her summoners take her. As her summoners are, likewise, sheltered, she has not seen much of the world. Also, as she can only be seen and interacted with by select few people, she has not been afforded much of a chance to socialize and glean outside opinions and information for herself. What she DOES know is the fine art of manipulating people out of their independency by presenting herself as a non-threatening, nurturing figure who only wants to take care of people's worries. This, along with bringing a swift and brutal end to her prey are skills she is very knowledgeable about and has honed to a fine point.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? As someone in Belphegor's line of work, being able to think on her feet and remain alert is important. You never know when humans could be carrying guns...
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Belphe is most certainly practical. While her sisters tend to be governed by their emotions, she stands firm in the belief that letting them get the better of you will only make a bad situation worse. She is quick to offer responsible choices, and choose the path that will lead to the least fallout, which sometimes go in completely the opposite direction of what her sisters had seen as an obvious solution. This often gets her razzed as being lazy despite the fact she believes she's being sensible.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Belphe has had no formal education. Everything she knows about the world, she has gleaned through other denizens of the Golden Land, and the humans she and her sisters torment. Suffice to say, her knowledge may be a bit biased as a result.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Belphe's expertise is primarily in killing. She was created to be an extension of Beatrice's hand in sacrificing humans, and is well-versed in the most efficient (and painful) ways to go about it. However, this knowledge of human pressure points and nerve endings has also made her very skilled in massage and knowing how to reduce someone to a relaxed puddle of goo beneath her fingertips.
If Belphe had her pick of things to learn more about, she would love to learn to cook and further her abilities to render humans immobile, but Ronove does not allow the girls in his kitchen without his express permission.
In other fragments, when made to provide for herself, she knows how to make very basic things - toasted cheese sandwiches, bowls of soup, and oatmeal - without turning them to a burnt mess.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? In comparison with her lively sisters, Belphegor is an introvert, preferring to keep out of the way of spirited functions and goings-on. When her sisters are squabbling amongst themselves, she's often found at the sidelines, quietly overseeing or occupied with something else.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? For the mostpart, Belphe is even-tempered and laid-back. She is very patient with those around her and seldom raises her voice or becomes flustered. She is not immune to anger/frustration, though, and will make it well-known when the line has been crossed (usually when her carefully-laid plans are being threatened with sabotage by one of her sisters or she's been made to endure a long while of being annoyed without reprieve).
She often gives the impression of being bored in general conversation, which turns off prospective friends and allies who believe she's only barely humoring what they have to say. In reality, she may be very interested in the topic, despite looking like she's about to fall asleep...it's merely her nature.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Strangers are not something she finds threatening. She takes them in stride and approaches with mild curiosity if they are able to detect her. When being presented with a high-ranking witch or powerful creature, she reacts with ingrained respect and politeness, speaking formally and bowing where appropriate so as not to embarrass her master.
When thrust into a new situation or fragment, her first prerogative is to try and locate someone or something familiar as well as test the capacity of her powers to determine how to proceed. Most usually, her forefront questions are who is running the game and what the rules are. If no one is readily able to provide answers to these questions, she proceeds with caution hoping to find someone who will.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Belphe is more likely to act, in most cases. Unless she is handed orders to stand by, she almost certainly will figure out her part in a scenario and play it out without needing to be prompted.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight. Always fight. The seven sisters are held to high standards as their master's weapons which means NOT running from battle. As such, they have nearly forgotten how to fear unless something is threatening to defeat Beatrice herself....in which case, it must be a truly frightening and powerful monster worthy of being afraid of. If Belphegor or someone she deems an ally is attacked, she will attack back with full intention of winning.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Belphe's sense of humor is present, but veiled. Schadenfreude-type humor is a favorite of hers, people losing complete control of their bodies in a way that it steals all their dignity is likewise funny to her (sneezes, for example).
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? The stakes could probably all be collectively diagnosed as sociopaths/psychopaths based on their callous, murderous behavior with no sympathy or regret. Belphe probably suffers from an inferiority complex or social anxiety to a degree. She has a hard time accepting praise, prefers to be in the background, becomes very awkward when shown affection or special treatment, and freezes up when shown unexpected physical affection.
Also, as is true with all of the "furniture" characters, she identifies as an object rather than as a person. She believes fully that she exists to be used as her master sees fit, whether its as a weapon or something to kick around when she's pissed off.
She deals with these issues by...not dealing with them whatsoever, just like everyone else in the Golden Land. Their manias and disorders make them unique and interesting characters.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? There's really been no scenes in her canon that I would say defined Belphe as a person. She and the others seemed to have been defined long before we joined them in the Umineko series. Her duel with Rudolf, however, gave us a window into what kind of person she is. Cruel and merciless as Beatrice's weapon, but also fair, honest, and too trusting as a girl.
14. What does she fear? Belphe doesn't fear dying or being dead, as those are merely temporary setbacks for a creature of imagination. What she DOES fear is having her existence and memory erased, as that would be the only instance she would truly "die".
To a lesser extent, she's afraid of concern and affection being directed at her as it "humanizes" her and threatens her comfortable status quo. Someone wouldn't ask a hassock if it was all right after kicking it over, or worry how a knife feels if they break off it's tip, so why worry about her? She would prefer to be an object than to be a person deserving of fair and equal treatment to that of a human, mostly because it's what she's always known and it's easier to stay what she is than have to rethink herself and become something new - which can be attributed to her tendency toward Sloth.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? An aspiration she and her sisters share is to become known throughout the universe as the best furniture. A hope that Belphe herself has is that, one day, her master will sit down and leave everything for her to take care of. Turning humans into lazy pigs is easy enough...being able to do it to a witch would be a real feat.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? She has had several erotic dreams about Ronove over the years, and quite frankly, she found them all pretty terrifying.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. She's never had parents. Though she has several people able to summon her and the other stakes who are all regarded with similar respect. She was brought into existence by Beatrice the Golden and regards her with reverence and fealty. In her proper world, she will obey an order from Beatrice, no matter how heinous, without hesitation if it is within her means to do so, though she does not seem to regard her master with any sort of unconditional love that a child may show to a parent.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Belphegor is the middle child of seven sisters! Her climate relating to each of them varies, though overall she attempts to be the reigned-in voice of reason among them and give the appearance of being sensible and experienced.
Lucifer - is her oldest sister and the manifestation of Pride. As Luci often throws her weight around as oldest by being the self-proclaimed representative of the seven stakes, Belphe and the others enjoy taking the wind out of her sails whenever a chance arises. While she takes just as much delight in Lucifer's failures as the others, Belphe has little interest in prolonged torment of her older sister, preferring instead to focus on whatever their goal might be at the time.
Leviathan - is the manifestation of Envy and is, to put it bluntly, a terrible crybaby. While her envy lends her a devastating power in the face of her foes, it leaves her impotent and helpless in the face of her sisters' ridicule and neglect. Belphe finds this helplessness attractive and will often step in to take full advantage of it, wiping her face or making her a cup of tea to soothe her. Because of this, Belphe has mistakenly been assumed to be Leviathan's ally, which leads to flares of temper between them when she teasingly attempts to sabotage Belphegor's tasks expecting her younger sister to take it in good humor.
Satan - Hot-headed and loud-mouthed, she is the manifestation of Wrath. As she is not a fan of things that harsh her mellow, Belphe tends to avoid interacting with Satan one-on-one where possible. She does not trust her to have the patience or the level-headedness to complete tasks fully before her temper gets in the way, and she is often correct.
Mammon - is the manifestation of Greed and hogs everything to herself that she can. Having had the privilege of being the sole sister to accompany Ange to St. Lucia's, Mammon has become a wealth of knowledge into the world of living as a human which, like everything else, she took the opportunity to hoard as it was presented to her. Belphe sees this information as valuable and will often consult Mammon on human matters to understand their nature better and remain adaptable in her methods of seducing them into becoming lazy slobs.
Beelzebub - Hyperactive, bubbly, and an endless black hole of hunger, she is the manifestation of Gluttony. As these two really have nothing to offer one another and tend to clash in both personality and goals, Belphe is quietly indulgent of her younger sister's mania in devouring everything in sight.
Asmodeus - The manifestation of Lust and her youngest sister. While she can certainly be full of innuendo and crudeness, Asmo's true aspirations lie in meeting and falling in love with "her prince" someday and living happily ever after. To Belphe, the fairy tale version of love makes absolutely no sense, and she finds this goal to be vapid. Some of the things she's read in Asmo's vast collection of bodice-ripper novels as she's put them away has left her highly confused...
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Belphe has no other blood relatives (That she's aware of, at least. There's no telling who might have been Beatrice's first attempts at summoning furniture)
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Beatrice's head furniture, Ronove, serves as a vague parental presence to Belphe and the rest of the stakes. As he is a high-ranking earl of hell, and can be amazingly dangerous when not in good humor, Belphegor knows better than to attempt to interact casually with him. That does not, however, stop her from studying his diligence and attempting to glean some knowledge of what he does in the kitchen.
There are times, also, that the Seven Sisters seem to regard Virgilia, the original holder of Beatrice's title, as a master they would prefer to serve as they believe her to be more understanding and kind than Beatrice is. However, until such a time as Beatrice is properly relieved of her title and it is restored to its former owner, Belphe and the others know its in their best interest to remain staunch supporters of the younger golden witch.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Belphe doesn't really "do" friends all that much. You're either someone she's decided to make herself responsible for, or you are an acquaintance of hers to some degree, even if you happen to feel differently about your relationship with her. That being said, the closest she's had to a "best friend" so far in other fragments she's fallen into has likely been L Lawliet, who has just as strange and fractured of a view of relationships as she does. They met during her first stay in Johto in 2009 and have followed one another through several kakera since.
6. Does she have other close friends? Not at this point.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? She tends to remain at arm's length when speaking to other people unless they have information she needs or special circumstances bring them together. She can generally be seen as "agreeable, but not all that memorable". She has yet to make a thoroughly bad impression on anyone, but it is seldom someone seeks her out again after meeting her once.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Family. For as much as they fail to get along sometimes, Belphe will always ALWAYS side with her sisters in the face of adversity Though this is also likely due to never having friends she deemed worth fighting for.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Never married, never likely to BE married. Even in the rare instance she's had a relationship, she seems to draw herself in with partners who have no designs on marriage or traditional ideas of relationships. This is just as well, honestly, as she is unlikely to be able to give herself fully to a marriage when she already deems herself fully committed to her master and encompassing task as witch's furniture.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? In another fragment, she has been, at the time of writing this, in a relationship with L Lawliet for nearly three years. It is not an incredibly healthy relationship, nor is it one that could be called "romantic" with a straight face. It has very much been a case of the blind leading the blind all of this time with lots of pitfalls, regrets, and occasional self-revelations that lead to them managing to progress a bit further as a couple. Despite that, however, they've come to see one another as a reassuring constant and are learning to be happy together.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Belphe doesn't crush, really. She doesn't "harbor feelings for" either. Relationships just kind of sneak up on her until they're staring her in the face, waiting to be recognized. Her partners through various universes have included Azrael from Darksiders, and L Lawliet from Death Note.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Someone who will let her take care of them, is honest with her, is willing to place their trust in her, and who is willing to "let things fall where they may" as opposed to trying to force them.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? Belphegor has no children. She was not built with the functional plumbing required to conceive and carry a baby as Beatrice is not the sort who would willingly allow her furniture to put someone before her. The idea of motherhood, while Belphe enjoys the idea of having a creature all her own that is fully dependent on her for everything, doesn't sit especially well with her. Mothering is a human thing, and she is not a human.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Rudolf Ushiromiya is about as close as she comes to having either. After their ill-fated duel that resulted in Belphe being shot to death, Belphe has professed her respect for Rudolf's ability to beat her and has had a few encounters with him since. Most of them have ended in Rudolf attempting to put his hands all over her and Belphe responding badly to it.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Belphe falls in the 1-2 range. While she is not opposed to the idea of intimacy with females, she seems to idealize a relationship she might fall into someday to be with a man. As men are more likely to expect her to fall into the role of nurturer/caregiver for them, its all the more likely she'd be drawn to straight relationships as grooming them into a slothful mindset would be all the easier.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? Belphe is of the mind that sex is a human act reserved for humans. She is, in fact, mildly fearful of the idea that attempting it herself might result in her body forcefully rejecting it and splitting her up the middle (which may or may not be a cruel seed planted in her head by Beatrice as a further way of discouraging the sisters from having relationships outside of her ownership of them). She, therefore, reacts to forceful, unexpected romantic advances by freezing up entirely.
Even in fragments where she's learned better and has cultivated a sex life, Belphe doesn't place much importance on it. She'll follow her partner's lead and is able to find the act enjoyable, but she never initiates and much prefers the afterglow part.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? The sisters as a collective seem to derive a certain sensual pleasure from piercing their victims, so its safe to say that an especially-brutal killing might get her hot under the collar. Otherwise, her turn-on's include: Being surrendered to, giving languid massages, the feel of silk or new flannel against her skin, bubble baths, feeding someone a rich meal that she knows is going to leave them drowsy and immobile afterward.
Turn offs - independent upbeat people, having control taken away from her, yelling, having someone else do her work for her
Weird Bedroom Habits - none sexually, but she enjoys piling all the pillows and blankets into the middle of the bed to make herself a sort of nest out of them and then sprawls in it for the night however she happens to fall into it. Only when she's alone, though.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? It is unknown when, precisely, the sisters were summoned into existence and how far apart in age they are. Given the significance of Halloween to Beatrice, I like to assume Lucifer was born on October 31st and each sister was born a day following. This would put Belphe's birthday at November 3rd and it would make her astrological sign, ironically enough, Scorpio - the very same creature that occupies the Fifth Magic Circle of Mars and acts as a powerful ward against her.
Astrology has this to say about her hypothetical birthdate:
"November 3rd Scorpios are sarcastic, inventive, and precocious. Although they enjoy the good things that come their way, they never quite believe their good luck will hold. They are fond of gambling, yet they are far too savvy to take unnecessary chances or draw undue attention to themselves. They place high value on their privacy."
Belphegor only possesses some of these traits. She is inventive and cautious of being reckless, and does not like to draw attention to herself as she prefers to work behind the scenes. However, she is not sarcastic, precocious, or pessimistic of her luck.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? One could call her "religious" in mindset toward magic. She reveres it, believes in it, and lives by it's ways as she's a child of it. She is offput by those who would deny it, and can be genuinely harmed by those who are fanatical in the idea it doesn't exist...so it remains in her best interest to be a tireless advocate for the power of magic whenever possible.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Belphe believes in fairness and honesty which seems to go against the very concept of what demons stand for. No one knows where it began or why she tends toward it, but it is regarded as "highly unusual" in witch's furniture, and with good reason. When people's lives are on the line, they aren't very apt to play the game by its rules and it sets her up for low-blows and being taken advantage of.
She is not above fighting dirty if the situation calls for it, though. If her master, sisters, or someone she deems valuable are in the sort of danger that can't be reasoned with, there is simply no time for fairness or honesty. Everything comes down to victory or loss, and she'd prefer to win by any means.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Belphe doesn't care what you believe in as long as it doesn't step on the beliefs that allow her to keep existing. She may get annoyed with you if you continue to deny magic and her existence even after she's appeared right in front of you.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? Belphegor and her sisters are known to look down on humans as being small-minded, pathetic, and fragile. It is partially because Beatrice looks down on them this way and partially because, as constructs of magic, they do not understand the finality of death. To them, humans whine far too much over being maimed or getting killed when, as far as they're concerned, it's of little matter to reverse a death/injury as if it hadn't happened.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? In her canon, Belphe has no money of her own. Everything is provided for her in the Golden Land, so she has no want for buying things. In other fragments where she is made to earn her own things, she is a dedicated worker who takes overtime wherever possible and, as a result, is usually comfortable enough in funds to buy whatever she needs/wants.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Belphegor is, and always has been furniture.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? Most usually the answer to this question is "Wherever Beatrice lives." She considers the Golden Land her home, but is not so attached to it that she can't relocate as necessary.
During her first stay in Johto, she and her sisters had purchased a house together in Goldenrod City wherein each of them had their own room. Belphe kept the house in shape and cleaned, making it a nice place they could invite people over to, even if the decor was strange with Lucifer, Mammon, and Asmodeus left in charge of it. Belphe's room was the most comfortable in the house with simple furniture, a lavish bed, and LOTS of pillows.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Usually on other people as she's a creature of few wants/needs. If she has a place to keep her stuff, she may indulge in comfortable clothes, pillows, bedsheets, incense, bubble baths, etc.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? As mentioned before, her living and purpose is to serve Beatrice the Golden. She considers herself adept at it, and it is her greatest joy.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Like her namesake demon, Belphe is a lover of useless inventions designed by hands that itch not to be idle. If you leave her alone with a desk and nothing better to do, she will gladly spend hours cobbling together weird little devices out of rubber bands and paper clips designed to do nothing except fling a paper wad across the room.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Belphe is fortunate that, in her proper form, she does not need to eat much or at all. Food is a luxury that she can choose to indulge in if she likes, and she can find herself in the mood for a particular kind of food/drink, but she will not suffer from hunger if she doesn't have any.
As a human, she's likely to skip meals, getting too caught up in her work to bother with them. When hunger finally catches up with her, she'll turn to comfort foods. Her favorite is a toasted cheese sandwich with a bowl of hot tomato soup.
